The Team
Producer / Screenwriter
Nicholas is the founder of Emergency Pineapple Studios and the creative engine behind nearly everything it makes. As a writer and producer, he shapes each project from the first page through release. In post he stays just as hands-on, cutting picture as an editor and shaping its sound. He started the studio because Midwest storytellers should not have to leave home to make serious work.
Writer / Director
Caterina is the studio's writer and director, and the person who keeps a production honest from start to finish. She carries projects from the first draft through the shoot, building the story on the page and then directing it on set. As first AD, she also runs the floor, holding the schedule together and keeping every shoot day on track.
Cinematographer / Gaffer
John shapes how every project looks. As cinematographer he frames each shot and sets the visual tone of the film; as gaffer he designs and runs the lighting that gives each scene its mood. To him, camera and light are a single craft, which is why what ends up on screen always looks deliberate and never accidental.
